Description

“History of Jamaican Music” is a culturally immersive, family‑friendly musical experience designed to celebrate the origins, evolution, and impact of live Jamaican music. Through live performances, storytelling, and audience participation, Ifficial Reggae Movement brings the heartbeat of reggae to Chicago communities. The program highlights the power of live instrumentation—guitar, keys, bass. percussion—and teaches participants how each instrument shapes the signature Jamaican sound. Youth and adults will have the opportunity to learn rhythms, explore instruments, and understand the cultural context behind the music. The event fosters unity, cultural appreciation, and positive community engagement. The live, interactive format promotes creativity, supports social-emotional well‑being, and offers an enriching cultural experience. https://ifficialreggae.com/home
