Junior Chamber Ensemble: Joint Recitals at Marquette

Join the Marquette Park Junior Chamber Ensemble for a free concert! Junior Chamber Ensemble is comprised of some of our youngest program members participating for the very first time in a large ensemble setting. Performing material originally written for beginning jazz musicians in high school, watch these grade-and-middle-schoolers sail through their beginning repertoire into a strong future in the performing arts.
This is also the Marquette Park Music Program's first Joint Recital of 2025! Junior Chamber Ensemble is opening for a group led and organized by student Markail Johnson, a junior in high school who has participated in Marquette Park Music Program groups like Soul Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, and Impro Unit--and has now begun taking on his own bandleader initiatives via Chicago programs like Reverberate. His group, based around his compatriots at Jones College Prep, will be performing material selected and arranged by Markail for the evening's performance before the show opens up into an open jazz jam session. Do come support the youth excellence of Junior Chamber Ensemble and the youth leadership of Markail Johnson!!
