We are hosting a FREE Open House on MLK Day to provide 6th - 12th graders an inside look into what CRF, Chicago Rowing Foundation is and does, as well as what Clark Park has to offer.
Here's a rundown of the day.
10:00 am Arrive at Clark Park
10:05 am Give numbers, assign students to a group (1,2,3)
--Each group will have a CRF leader
10:05-10:15 am Before each session begins with an icebreaker
--Icebreaker: Toilet Paper game: each group is given a roll of toilet paper, everyone sits in a circle and the leader says "take as much as you need" without any other directions. Everyone in the circle takes at least one square...each square accounts for a fun fact, the student will have to share about themselves. It is funny, awkward and allows the students to get to know one another a little more. Leaders can call time if a student takes over 10, so everyone has an opportunity to share.
10:15-10:40 am Group 1: Warm up, Ergs (basics, technique, piece) 20 min each, 5 min for transition
10:45-11:05 am Group 2: Warm Up, Tank work 20 min each, 5 min for transition
11:10-11:30 am Group 3: Boathouse Tour 20 min each, 5 min for transition
11:30 am -12 pm All at the end: Q&A and Pizza Last 35 or so minutes, Show a video of CRF
Groups will rotate, same leader stays at one station.Add to Calendar 2020-01-20 10:00:00 2020-01-20 12:00:00 MLK Day Learn to Row Open House at Clark (Richard) Clark (Richard) Park Chicago Park District email@example.com America/Chicago public
