When his daughter is brutally beaten by her husband, Manuel (JoséFélix Gómez) takes on the temporary custody of his estranged nine-year-old granddaughter Irene. To make matters worse, Manuel hasn’t been feeling quite himself lately. Diagnosed with early onset of Alzheimer’s, Manuel finds, through art and photography, the vehicle to open and strengthen links with his granddaughter, leading to a loving and independent relationship. Manuel is forced to make some hard choices as social service workers begin to question if Manuel is the right person to take care of Irene.
