Print Pollination is a popup artmaking series centering queerness, migration, and home that engages the outdoors as a community art studio. We use papermaking, printmaking, zinemaking to connect our collective hxstories to the natural environment - both vulnerable and resilient. We hope to queer public space through ARTivation: seed-papermaking, silkscreen/block printing, and zine/bookmaking. All rooted in the seasons and cycles of the monarch butterfly. In Spring, as monarchs arrive and begin to lay their eggs and become caterpillars, we draw connections to queer and brown nourishment by focusing on self care and communal care as we share a seed-papermaking workshop based on seeds, flowers, and grasses around us, while storytelling around our queer remedies. In the Summer, we focus on the chrysalis stage as we share a silkscreen+block printmaking workshop based on the seed paper previously made where we now engage with stories of queer homemaking, liminal spaces, and cultural transformation. In the Autumn, responding to the monarch’s migration and our queer migrations, we share a zine/bookmaking workshop binding stories from previous workshops focusing on dissemination of queerstories as we offer printed seed paper and seed-books to the earth and community - planting milkweed seed paper for future generations of queersalizing monarchs.Add to Calendar 2022-06-11 14:00:00 2022-06-11 17:00:00 Print Pollination at Burnham Burnham (Daniel) Park Chicago Park District firstname.lastname@example.org America/Chicago public
