Description

This single-session two hour program introduces participants to paddling a canoe, including basic strokes, water safety, and trip planning. Courses are led by a level 2 American Canoe Association instructor and focus on building confidence skill on the water. Registration fee includes a canoe, life jacket, and paddle rental. Based at the River Park Boathouse, the Chicago Park District's RiverLab program is a series of educational events and activities dedicated to reconnecting residents of Chicago with their river. All programs will include themes on ecology and history of the river, and are open to all residents.
