Switch on Summer & Night Out Kick-Off at Buckingham Fountain

Get ready for ComEd’s 12th annual Switch on Summer, which celebrates the start of summer with the official turning on of Chicago’s iconic Buckingham Fountain! Brought to you in partnership with the Chicago Park District, this year’s event will also include the official Kick-Off announcement for the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks summer programming. Night Out in the Parks is the premiere event series that activates parks across the city throughout the summer with FREE cultural events and performances.

Performing emsembles:
Clinard Dance w/ Steadfast Dance Center An interactive outdoor performance from Clinard Dance and Steadfast Dance Center blending flamenco, breaking, and spoken word. This program includes short performances alongside participatory dance demonstrations that invite audience members of all ages to learn basic steps and rhythms.
Bollywood Groove Get ready to GROOVE! Transform your evening into a Bollywood bash with Bollywood Groove Indian Dances & Stories! We’re bringing the high-octane energy of India straight to your local park. This will be an all-out cultural party where ancient folktales meet modern beats. Watch spectacular performances, then jump in to learn the moves yourself!

Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange (CCRx) The Imagination Station with the Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange is an all-ages craft station that focuses on reusing everyday items and recycled goods into craft projects. Come make a craft with us, and get inspired to reuse your everyday items you no longer have use for!
Jabberwocky Marionettes A full theatrical puppet experience with laughs and whimsical moments and an original musical track, this live outdoor show connects us all with awe in the animal kingdom around us.
Point Theatre Project Point Theatre Project turns their “Gladiator Fight Night” into an outdoor extravaganza full of fun and learning for all ages. Chicago icons battle each other for the championship, in this interactive, bracket style show. Audiences will cheer on their favorites through each round. Who wins? You decide!
