The year is 2276, and in celebration of what would have been America’s 500th birthday, Chicago Shpatz has designed a historic walking tour of 2026, just before the fall of the American Empire. The world was very different in 2026. Chicagoans had to pay for housing. Democracy was more of an idea than a reality. The country was ruled by an 80-year-old dictator. The world had borders and something called The Internet.
