Description

Celebrate the longest night of the year at the 25th annual Winter Solstice Festival. Welcome winter with fun free activities: Stargaze with The Chicago Astronomer from 5-7:30pm. Enjoy a fire-performance by Pyrotechniq, Inc from 6pm-7pm. Stay warm with hot drinks and an outdoor fire. Enjoy the beauty of night by taking a walk on trails lit by luminaries. All ages welcomed. Parking and entry are free!

Go green by taking the CTA to the Nature Center: Pulaski (#53 bus) to Ardmore or Peterson (# 84 bus) to Pulaski. If arriving by car, please park at the Peterson Park Gymnastics Center, Peterson Park Field House, Central Park Avenue or in the designated Nature Center Visitor parking spaces. Note: No parking at designated NPV Apartments lots.

In accordance with Be Safe Chicago Guidelines for Parks and Recreation Activities, participants in this activity will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while participating. Patrons who are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home and join us for an event when symptoms subside.
