YVES FRANCOIS ROCAMBU JAZZ is a dance band that performs Retro African, Latin, Arabic, and Caribbean grooves, exploring the rhythms of the African diaspora, such as biguine, conga, rumba, highlife, rai, as well as Chicago, New Orleans, and Harlem jazz. Our music is based on the rich rhythmic vocabulary of diverse world cultures, in the context of our deep connection to Chicago's rich musical history, particularly traditional jazz, blues, and world cultures that have called Chicago home for generations.
