View program offerings now; Online registration begins March 8 and 9 
Today, the Chicago Park District announces the launch of Spring registration Monday, March 8. The in-person spring session offers a variety of sports, recreational, and cultural programming opportunities. In addition, the Chicago Park District will also continue to offer a vast selection of virtual programs and experiences to keep families active and engaged. Virtual opportunities include live and pre-recorded classes and other unique park experiences, including virtual arts and crafts, story time and fitness workouts. 

During the spring programming session, the Chicago Park District will re-open indoor swimming pools to offer limited aquatics programming. Spaces for each program will be limited to observe social distancing. The District will follow swimming pool guidance from the State of Illinois.  

The Chicago Park District reminds families to check out our Spring Break Camps offered at parks across the city. This week-long camp allows children the opportunity to spend the day with their peers, in a safe, fun and supervised environment while school is out. Children participate in safe, socially distanced recreational activities, arts and crafts, sports and other fun activities. Spring Break Camps run from March 29 through April 2.

Given the popularity of programs, patrons are encouraged to browse through the list of available park programs, which are now available to view, and create a wish list before the start of registration.

Spring online registration at is as follows:

•    Parks located west of California Avenue and all our virtual programs will begin registration Monday, March 8 at 9am  
•    Parks located east of California Avenue will begin registration Tuesday, March 9 at 9am  
•    Gymnastics centers will begin registration Tuesday, March 9 at 12pm

Dependent on the number of program spots remaining, in-person registration will begin Friday, March 12. Classes will start the week of April 5 and run until June 13.

It is important to note that programs at McFetridge Sports Center, Morgan Park Sports Center, Addams Park, and Gately Park follow a different schedule. Online registration for the above locations begins on Tuesday, March 16, followed by in-person registration on Saturday, March 20 at 10am. Programs at these facilities run from March 29 through May 23.

“Our parks offer a variety of outdoor activities during our spring session and are we excited to invite Chicagoans to register,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael Kelly. “Whether you choose to partake in our virtual or in-person programs, the safety of all our guests and staff is a top priority.” 

Please note, spaces in our spring session are limited. Classes will operate with static pods and stable cohorts, allowing 15 participants per instructor. Program capacity is based on size of the facility in order to observe social distancing and other public health guidelines. 

The District strongly urges patrons to take precautions to protect their health and the safety of others while in our parks. Signage will be posted at every park facility to remind patrons of required safety measures. Face coverings are required at all times. The District also urges patrons to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently, avoid touching their face with unwashed hands and covering their noses and mouths when sneezing or coughing. Guests are asked to bring their own water, as drinking fountains will not be available. Finally, anyone who is feeling unwell should stay home, per Chicago Department Public of Public Health order.
