The Chicago Park District proudly presents an Hispanic Heritage Month event. Xochitl-Quetzal Aztec Dance preserves and promotes the indigenous cultural heritage of ancient Mexico. The Aztec Dance celebrates and expresses love and appreciation towards the natural world. We engage all generations in traditional Aztec art, song, and dance. Our group is made up of children and families from the Mexican immigrant communities in Chicago. Xochitl-Quetzal means "precious flower" in the Nahuatl Aztec language.
