Chicago Park District fitness courses offer park visitors an opportunity for outdoor workouts with equipment to facilitate a variety of exercises. Fitness courses vary by location and may include parallel bars, rings, raised horizontal ladders, jump boxes, and incline or flat abdominal benches for body weight exercises. These courses can be paired with walking, running or biking on nearby trails to add cross training to your cardiovascular workout or can be used alone for a total body workout.
Unlike our playgrounds, which offer play opportunities for children, these facilities are intended for use in fitness activity.
