California Park Natural Area

The native planting at the north end of California Park is part of a citywide initiative to explore alternatives to traditional lawns. Planted in 2022 with an abundance of low-statured native sedges and wildflowers, these areas require less mowing, watering, and chemicals than traditional lawn while benefiting wildlife, decreasing stormwater runoff, and providing beauty.
