Description
The Clarendon Park Community Garden garden was created in 2015 by community members and members of the Clarendon Park Advisory Council. This organic vegetable garden now hosts 20 plots for neighborhood residents to grow. In 2016, the Clarendon Park Community Gardners partnered with Social Ecologies to build and maintain a Soil Center at the park, helping to encourage sustanability in both the garden and surrounding Uptown neighborhood.
The garden is optimally situated in the middle of Clarendon Park to exhibit urban and sustainable gardening. Many residents see that they can grow healthy, organic produce in the city. We are fortunate to have a border of native plants to support pest control and pollination. Anyone interested in renting a plot, volunteering, or getting involved with other garden activities can email clarendoncommunitygarden@gmail.com, or stop by the fieldhouse for more information.
