3400 N. Rockwell St.
Chicago, IL 60618
Description
This ornamental (non-food producing) garden is maintained by volunteers from the community for the beautification of the park and enjoyment of park patrons. The focus of the garden is on plants native to the Chicago region. These plants are particularly well-adapted to this environment and provide food and shelter for local pollinators. Please feel free to visit, observe, take pictures, and enjoy.
The main community garden is located along the river path west of the field house. We also maintain a small 10’ x 14’ native garden at the northwest corner of the woods in the park. We maintain two raised beds, each 10’ x 8’ along Rockwell near the sidewalk. We have planted bulbs along seven trees northwest of the small parking lot in the park.
