Description
Cornell Garden Oasis has been a part of the Kenwood/Hyde Park community for over 40 years. We are unique in having both vegetable garden plots and a large woodland with native wildflowers and ferns. A stroll through the woods opens into a glade with 42 garden plots. We maintain a woodland/garden that attracts bountiful birds and butterflies and offers community members an opportunity to grow organic vegetables. Our Oasis is situated in the most diverse community in Chicago. In the same way we want our garden to be a haven to all that nature has to offer that includes welcoming all that humanity has to offer. It is an oasis from hate, prejudice, and exclusion. We are delighted to welcome gardeners throughout the year, but like most community gardens there is a waitlist for actual plots. There is more information on our website cornelloasis.com and you can get in touch by contacting website@cornelloasis.com.
