Hegewisch Marsh Natural Area
Description
Hegewisch Marsh contains 130 acres of native woodland, wetland, prairie, and aquatic habitats along the Calumet River. The site has nearly three miles of mulch/soft surface trails and is an important site for wetland birds, amphibians, and other wetland wildlife.
