Natural areas are open from dawn to dusk daily.
Hegewisch Marsh contains 130 acres of native marsh, wetland, and wet prairie habitats along the Calumet River. The site has over 2.5 miles of trails and is an important site for wetland birds, as well as other wildlife, such as beavers and amphibians.
