Horner Park is a 54-acre park in the Irving Park community area. In 2013, a river shoreline restoration project began, restoring 11 acres of riverbank to a natural state. The eastern boundary of the park borders the Chicago River between Montrose Avenue and Irving Park Road, but the river is fenced off and inaccessible to the public until the fall of 2018. This work creates a new natural area to the park and improves the habitat quality of the park while providing new access to nature along the river.
