Description

Artist George Suyeoka incorporates small animal sculptures into drinking fountains. This one depicts a lion pride—an adult male, an adult female, and three small cubs—mounted on a bronze podium. The animals appear to be drinking water at the edge of the fountain’s basin. Suyeoka, a native of Hawaii, is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. Along with the Lion Fountain, he also created two other sculptural drinking fountains which are located at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
