Description
The Chicago Park District, Mount Greenwood Park Advisory Council, and government officials worked together to raise $1.2 million for this custom-designed playground that includes interactive art components. The Chicago Public Art Group facilitated community workshops to design and produce the artworks. Music was the central theme of the design.
James Brenner sculpted the metal musical elements in collaboration with acoustical designer Jake Worley-Hood. Todd Osborne worked closely with area residents to create a series of mosaic obelisks that are scattered throughout the play space. Hitchcock Design Group wove the art components into the design of the award-winning, fully accessible, soft-surface playground.
