Park No. 602
Park No. 602 is a vibrant 0.45-acre community plaza and roller rink designed to foster recreation, events, and neighborhood engagement. The space features colorful painted surfacing, a nature-based play area, and enhanced site lighting. Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities, including benches, picnic tables, and flexible outdoor activity areas.
Additional highlights include a performance stage, shade structures, landscaped elements, decorative perimeter fencing, and upgraded site utilities—all contributing to a welcoming and dynamic public gathering space.
The Chicago Park District worked with the City Planning Department to identify property located at 4008 W. Madison Avenue in the West Garfield Park Community Area for parkland. The City provided funding for the development of this site and leased it to the Park District in 2022. This park was developed into a community plaza and roller rink.
