Dr. Everett’s philosophy and life mission is one of service and he sees the heart as a powerful organ that directs all aspects of life. His favorite quote reflects this:
The heart is the perfection of the whole organism. Therefore the principles of the power of perception and the soul’s ability to nourish itself must lie in the heart. ~Aristotle

Also, Dr. Everett was an active board member of the Common Ground Foundation, a foundation dedicated in youth development founded by Chicago’s famous actor/rapper/philanthropist Lonnie Rashid “Common” Lynn. Being a lifelong athlete himself and playing basketball for Howard University in Washington D.C., Dr. Everett is one of the founders and currently is the Co-Executive Director of the Chicago Elite Classic, a nonprofit organization focusing on providing life and leadership skills to student-athletes through basketball. Also, Dr. Everett’s commitment to civic issues was exemplified by his role as a long-time board member of the Cook County Justice Advisory Council, an organization designed to reduce the county’s jail population while preserving public safety and promoting fair and equitable access to justice.
