Arts Partners in ResidenceArts Partner in Residence (APR) is a program of the Chicago Park District’s Culture, Arts, and Nature Department. The goal of APR is to develop long-term collaborations between neighborhood parks and professional arts organizations to serve local neighborhoods’ cultural interests. We assess a park’s space availability and programming needs and match parks with nonprofit arts organizations in an exchange relationship. Arts organizations offer free, year-round public programming in exchange for free use of park space.

How the Arts Partners in Residence Works

The Park District provides the Arts Partner with use of office, classroom, rehearsal, performance, studio, storage, and/or gallery space in Chicago parks in exchange for the Arts Partner providing programming. There are two basic forms of Arts Partners in Residence. Learn about our Full Residency and Semi-Residency models here.
