The Chicago Park District offers an extensive array of programs for all ages this spring.  You'll find a variety of in-person programming options along with our popular virtual programs.  Get out and be active, or go online and be active - whatever you choose, we have you covered.

Registration & Program Dates*

  • View Programs:
    Monday, March 3, 2025
     
  • Online Registration:
    • Monday, March 10, 2025 @ 9am for programs at parks located West of California Ave. & all Virtual Programs

    • Tuesday, March 11, 2025 @ 9am for programs at parks located East of California Ave

    • Tuesday, March 11, 2025 @ noon for gymnastics centers
       

  • In-Person Registration: 
    Most parks begin in-person registration on Saturday, March 15 or Monday, March 17. In-person registration is available if spots still remain after online registration has started.  Check program information to confirm this.  A list of registration dates by park will be posted soon.
     
  • Most Programs Run:
    March 31 - June 8
    *Programs at McFetridge Sports Center, Morgan Park Sports Center, Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park, and the ComEd Recreation Center at Addams Park follow a different schedule.  Go here to view that schedule.

Spring 2025 Highlights


Aquatics Programs

Whether you are 16 months old or 90 years young, there is a Chicago Park District aquatics program for you.  These classes include Parent and Tot Swim; Tiny Tot Swim; Youth, Teen, and Adult Learn to Swim; Swim Team; Water Polo; and Aquatic Exercise. 

Ages 6-17 get the First Session of Youth Learn to Swim Programs Free with a Coupon Code
Swimming is an important life skill.  Learn how to swim at the Chicago Park District.  Patrons ages 6-17 can take a 10-session introductory swim class for FREE!  [CLICK HERE] to learn more about the Learn to Swim program.


Park Kids After-school Program

Park Kids is an excellent way for kids 6-12 to get out among friends & stay active after school thru a variety of brain play, nature, fitness, sports, and art activities,  along with homework time.  Financial assistance is available, and fees are reduced for CHA residents.

Gymnastics

The Chicago Park District’s 10 gymnastic centers offer quality instruction for beginners to advanced competitors year-round, with excellent training facilities and instructors.  [CLICK HERE] to view these locations. 


Early Childhood (18 months-5 yrs old)

From Arts & ABCs,  Ballet and Bitty Basketball, to Dino Diggers, Kiddie College, and Little Artists you will find something special for your little one. For the younger ones, Parent/Guardian & Tot activities are available at many parks.  While the majority of programs are in-person, we do offer a number of online/virtual programs for this age group including Kiddie College,  and Arts & ABCs.


Youth (6-12 yrs old)

Looking to keep your kids active this season, sign them up for a park program!  The Chicago Park District strives to connect youth with fun, creative, and engaging programs in a safe environment. Classes include boxing; basketball;  dance; woodcraft; cheerleading; a variety of fitness options and so much more. 

Spring Break Camps
Kids can enjoy their school break in the parks!  Campers will participate in recreational activities, arts & crafts, and sports, along with other fun activities.  Some specialty camps are also available. Most camps run March 24 - 28, 2025.  [CLICK HERE] to learn more about Spring Break Camp.


Teens

We have a variety of opportunities for teens to get involved in the parks! 

  • Upcoming Teen Opportunity Fairs on March 1, 8 & 15 provide information on summer jobs and other opportunities for youth aged 13-19. A new Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teen Opportunity Fair will be held on March 22.
  • Your perfect summer job is in the parks! Positions for ages 16+ include lifeguard, recreation leader (day camp), and junior laborer (landscape maintenance). APPLY NOW to be a lifeguard! The other positions are opening soon.  Additional positions are available for ages 18+, learn more.
  • Hang out in one of the Teen Centers located at several parks across the city. The centers are dedicated rooms in park fieldhouses designed specifically for teens to socialize, play video games, or just hang out with friends in a safe environment. 

A variety of programs are offered this season for teens, from basketball and cultural offerings to fitness classes and clubs.  Register for one (or more) today!


Adults/Seniors 

A variety of classes are offered, from cultural activities to fitness and wellness,  there is something for all interest types.  If you're a fan of the fast-growing sport Pickleball, it's available at parks across the city, both instruction and open court times are available. 


Special Recreation

Special Recreation programs are offered for individuals with disabilities. Participants will enjoy a variety of activities, from creating crafts, cooking, and fitness to visiting with friends in our social clubs.
