Permits & Rentals

The Chicago Park District offers numerous indoor & outdoor spaces to host your next event.  Additionally, permits are required for many activities that take place on Chicago Park District property.   

Here are many of the common rental and permit options:

• Room or Gym Rental - Learn how to rent space inside a park field house or cultural center.
• Athletic Field Rental - Learn how to rent a field for a league or single game.
• Commemorative Event Rental - Baptisms, dedications and other ceremonies require a Special Event Permit-Commemorative Level
• Conference or Gala Rental - Find the right venue for your conference, gala or reception.  The Chicago Park District features dozens of unique, historic and architecturally significant venues and gardens to host your event.
• Construction Access Permit - All persons not under direct contract with the Chicago Park District who will be performing work on Park District property are required to obtain an Access Permit from the Chicago Park District Office of Green Initiatives. The firm or persons performing the work should apply for the permit. 
• Filming, Photography or Journalism Permit - Find information on wedding or cotillion photography, filming a documentary or commercial project or conducting a journalism project at a Chicago Park District park
• Picnic Permit - Learn how to apply to host your family reunion or other social gathering in a Chicago Park District picnic grove.
• Promotions Permit/Rental - Find out how to apply for a permit to sampling or distribute a product/literature at a park
• Research Access Permit  - All researchers conducting investigations on Park District property are required to obtain a Research Access Permit from the Chicago Park District Office of Green Initiatives before beginning any project. These research investigations, by nature, are to be completely noninvasive to the park, leaving no materials or equipment in the parks after a project has completed. If these stipulations do not apply to the nature of the project, a standard Access Permit is required.

• Special Event Permit - Host your walk, run, festival, performance, sports tournament or other special event at one of Chicago’s premiere parks.
