Mayor Rahm Emanuel presents Night Out in the Parks supported by NATO Legacy Funds
In it's first year, the 2013 Night Out in the Parks series brought more than 750 events and programs to more than 230 neighborhood parks throughout the city, making community parks safe havens and hubs of activity. Chicagoans and city visitors enjoyed the breadth of world-class cultural programming offered in local parks as part of this exciting new program. Projects varied from traditional performances and concerts, to peace rallies, movies, magic shows, community workshops, nature-based programs, dance pieces, festivals and more. The Park District partnered with more than 50 arts and community organizations to expand and produce this successful initiative.
