The Department of Audit conducts internal audits to assess the integrity of financial reporting systems, the effectiveness of internal controls, and the efficiency of established procedures, in order to help departments increase efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability. Audit reports on its work to the Audit Management Committee, which makes recommendations to the Committee on Administration of the Board of Commissioners. The Audit Management Committee includes the Board President, a Board Commissioner, the General Superintendent, the Chief Financial Officer, the General Counsel, the Comptroller, and the Director of Human Resources.
