The Decennial Committees on Local Government Efficiency Act (Public Act 102-1088) was passed into law in 2022. This new law requires certain taxing bodies of Illinois to create a Committee to study the governmental unit’s governing statutes, ordinances, rules, procedures, powers, jurisdiction, shared services, intergovernmental agreements, and interrelationships with other governmental units and report recommendations to the county board in which the governmental unit is located. The Chicago Park District Decennial Committee approved their Efficiency Report on October 9, 2024 and has submitted the report to Cook and DuPage counties.
