The Park District expects to have 200 pickleball courts in parks across the city by the end of 2025!

Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Rosa Escareño, 29th Ward Alderman Chris Taliaferro, members of the Columbus Park Advisory Council and Austin community residents will celebrate the opening of the new pickleball and tennis courts in Coumbus Park, 500 S. Central Avenue, on the city’s West Side on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. Event will take place at courts located at the southeast corner of Austin and Adams Boulevards  
                         
Pickleball has become the fastest growing sport across the nation, including right here in Chicago! Today, the District celebrates the completion of four new pickleball and four rehabilitated tennis courts in historic Columbus Park.

Keeping with its commitment to support the recreational needs and interests of Chicago residents, the Park District announced “Pickleball Mania”, plans to construct more than 100 new pickleball courts throughout the city by 2025. This investment expands opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels across the city and puts Chicago in line with other cities across the country that are meeting the growing popularity of the sport.
