Description

Under the cover of darkness, thousands of birds migrate through Chicago. During this registered event, we invite you to Margaret Burroughs Beach (formerly 31st Street Beach) to watch the full moon as migrating birds fly past. This unique birding event is hosted in partnership with the Chicago Ornithological Society, and is modeled on the way 19th century astronomers helped us better understand night migration. This is a fun opportunity to see some birds, and enjoy the moonlight along the lake with the company of other birders.

This event will include a large telescope and spotting scope stations, as well as provide binoculars to all registered participants.
