Description
When Adelor, am African lion who had lived at the Lincoln Park Zoo for most of his 18-year life died in 2012, donor Zina L. Berman commissioned a bronze memorial to the beloved animal. Husband and wife sculptors Jeffrey L. Varilla and Anna Koh Varilla created the life-like bronze figure of Adelor. In an attentive post on a stone base that looks like an outcropping, the bronze lion looks as though he is surveying his territory and monitoring his pride.
