Numerous historic and unique indoor and outdoor facilities such as 63rd St Beach, Northerly Island, Promontory Point, South Shore Cultural Center, etc. are available for rental. We provide the breathtaking setting and customers provide the imagination using one of our Preferred Professionals who offer catering, event rentals and event production services.  

Special Event Venue Pricing includes a $35 Application Fee + Rental Fees.

Outdoor Ceremony Only – No Food or Beverage Service


Chicago Women’s Park & Garden, Lincoln Park Grandmother’s Garden, Humboldt Park’s Formal Garden, Douglas Park Flower Hall, & Washington Square Park are just a few of the stunning ceremony locations available throughout the city.  

To host an outdoor wedding ceremony in one of the Park District’s gardens or beaches a Special Event Permit is required regardless of location and number of people.  

This permit allows for use of designated outdoor space for a two or four hour time frame. No food/beverage service of any kind is allowed. Equipment rentals (chairs, trellis, etc.) may be contracted through one of our Preferred Professionals. Summer beach events must be complete before 11am. Permits are not issued on Holidays.

Baptisms, Dedications & Other Ceremonies

Outdoor Ceremonies

Outdoor ceremonies such as baptisms, dedications, memorials and religious & non-religious services, require a Special Event Permit – Commemorative Level.  

This permit allows for use of designated outdoor space for a two or four hour time frame. No food/beverage service of any kind is allowed. Equipment rentals (chairs, trellis, etc.) may be contracted through one of our Preferred Professionals.  

  • Summer beach events must be complete before 11am
     
  • Baptisms in Lake Michigan or other body of water require Chicago Park District Lifeguards for an additional fee
