Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary

Throughout Chicago, our park system is filled with nature. The city's parks include two world class conservatories, three environmental centers, the Lincoln Park Zoo, hundreds of gardens, nature play spaces, and more than 1,900 acres of critical natural habitat for local and migratory wildlife that account for more than 20% of our total parkland.

These unique places to explore across the city provide opportunities to improve one's physical and mental health.  These features are open year-round for everyone to enjoy at their own convenience.  Additionally, the Park District offers programs and events that are not only about nature education, but also inspire appreciation, and promote environmental stewardship. With so much to offer the nature enthusiast, it's no wonder that Chicago is dubbed the "City in a Garden."
