Description

Artist's Statement: Pandora’s Shepherd is a work that follows a theme I started in 2001. Our society has pushed the environment to the brink, with carbon emissions, land misuse, all adding to the global warming of our planet. The large granite slab delicately balanced atop the steel base is a metaphor for our efforts to confront these negative influences on our planet. If that stone should happen to fall from its perch it would expose a cataclysmic set of events that may not be reversible, much like Pandora’s Box.
