As pools remain closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Chicago Park District Aquatics team is offering dryland programs that take place both in-person and online.

Swim Lessons

Chicago Park District is a proud provider of American Red Cross Aquatics programs. In cooperation with the Red Cross and the USA Swimming Foundation and its Make A Splash™ initiative, we are working to spread awareness of the importance of Chicagoans learning how to swim. Learn to swim classes start at the age of 18 months and are offered for youth and adults.

While pools are closed, water safety classes are offered for ages 5 and up.

Aquatic Exercise Classes

Get a great workout in the water.  The aquatic environment is easy on the joints and offers more resistance when working out. Aquatic exercise classes are offered for all ages. Some classes such as Water Walking are offered specifically for seniors, to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Advanced training and competition are offered in our group swimming and water polo clubs for youth and teens. Athletes in our competitive programs participate in local, regional and national competitions.  During the summer, aquatic specialty programs are offered in swimming, water polo and junior lifeguard, a program that trains youth to be future lifeguards.

Enjoy time in the water with family and friends during these non-instructional sessions.

While pools are closed, open swims are not offered.

 

Lap Swims

 

Lap Swims

Get a great workout at a park pool!  Monthly or 3-month lap swim membership passes are available.  A membership gives you access to lap swim times at any park that offers lap swim (both indoor and outdoor pools).  For ages 13 and up.
