Description

Canalport Riverwalk Natural Area contains two acres of native prairie habitat along the south shoreline of the Chicago River. Paved paths border and run through the native habitat where you can spot native plant  such as purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), bee balm (Monarda fistulosa) and compass plant (Silphium laciniatum). Enjoy views of the Chicago River from the Rio de Bienvenida / River of Welcome art installation, a public gathering space celebrating a greener future for the river.
